Truck Driver Rescued From Raging River in Kenya
A truck driver was sitting on top of his truck in the middle of a raging river in Kenya. Officials say people watched him from shore, but were helpless to get him out because of how rough the water was. A helicopter was called in from the Sheldrick Wildlife Trust. The pilot hovered just six inches above the overturned truck while another rescuer got out of the helicopter and helped the stranded man get inside. Inside Edition Digital’s Mara Montalbano has more.
Did Rescuers Find Shoe of Rescued 4-Year-Old in Woods?
The parents of a lost 4-year-old boy are speaking out. New Jersey state troopers went on a desperate search to rescue a 4-year-old named Parker from the woods. Parker’s dad says he was making cupcakes with his son when he left him alone for only a minute to use the bathroom. That’s when he says Parker walked out the back door and into the woods. When they finally found him, the trooper handed him over to his mother.
Freezer Falls on Rescue Worker
Officer Joao Loyola climbed into a river looking for two people who hadn’t been seen since their home collapsed in dangerous landslides. He was one of three rescuers searching the river bank, and was the last to be pulled up on the ropes. The freezer and other debris slid from the unstable homes above. Heavy rains have caused the land to be too soft to hold structures. Authorities have ordered the evacuation of all of the houses in this area, fearing additional landslides.
What3Words App Helps First Responders Locate Lost People
A phone app is being used to help first responders locate people who are lost. It’s called What3Words and it’s a free app you can download to your phone. The Los Angeles fire department recently used What3Words to rescue some California hikers who were stuck in the wilderness. With the help of Texas first responders from the Austin Police Department, Inside Edition put the app to the test.

Two bus drivers are being hailed as heroes after saving a boy that had been in the back seat of his parents’ car when it was stolen by carjackers. ABC News’ Derricke Dennis reports.
Teen Girl and Her Dog Rescued from Flooded Rooftop
A 17-year-old girl and her dog were rescued after escaping their flooded Kentucky home. Chloe Adams was home alone as floodwater started to fill her one-story house. The teen put the dog in a plastic container on top of a couch cushion and pushed it through the rushing water to her neighbor’s rooftop five hours later, her cousin paddled to the rescue in a kayak. The dog was rescued first followed by Adams.
Father and Son Rescue Toddler From Highland Park Shooting
Tom Brooks and his son Morgan are the heroes who rescued 2-year-old Aiden McCarthy from the Highland Park shooting. The father-son duo wants the world to know that the toddler’s father did everything he could to protect his son. As the panicked crowd scrambled to get away from the shooting, Morgan saw the toddler pinned under his wounded dad, Kevin McCarthy. They were able to pull the boy from under his father by his arms. Although Aiden was covered in his dad’s blood, they say he was calm.
19-Year-Old Driver Pulled From Burning Car by Cops
Seconds after arriving on scene an officer helped colleagues pull a teen from a burning car. It happened in Greenfield, Indiana. Three officers separately rushed to a call of a car crash. Dashcam shows a sergeant arrive on the scene where two other officers, along with a bystander, were already trying to get the occupant out of the car. One of the officers tried to extinguish the flames, while the other tried to cut out the airbag. Inside Edition Digital’s Mara Montalbano has more.

A man has been honored by the Phoenix Police Department for stopping the assault of a woman in downtown Phoenix last month.
Sheriff Performs CPR on Child in the Middle of Traffic
A Texas family is grateful to a sheriff’s deputy for saving their toddler’s life. Daniella Armijo stopped her car in the middle of traffic when she noticed her 4-year-old was in need of help. Armijo grabbed her daughter and ran towards the sheriff’s vehicle behind her. Officer K. Rose was the deputy in the car behind the distressed mother. He began doing CPR on the limp little girl, “patting the child on her back to clear any possible obstructions and doing chest compressions.”
12-Year-Old and Dad Save Drowning Autistic Boy
A father and son are credited with saving the life of a drowning child with autism. Twelve-year-old Maddox and his friends noticed 4-year-old Xavier go under water in a gated swimming pool. Maddox ran for his father, Tom, who climbed over the locked metal fence and pulled the toddler from the pool. Authorities say Tom “did compressions for 2 minutes and 41 seconds.” Because of Maddox and Tom’s quick actions, Xavier is here to bounce another day!

Cops Carry Elderly Man to Safety After Finding Him in Ravine
Authorities in Arizona came to the rescue of an elderly man who was found injured in a ravine. A Silver Alert was activated about 10 hours earlier when he didn’t return home. Scottsdale Police say his vehicle was found in a rural area around midnight and within two hours, rescuers were able to locate him. Officers worked together to carry the man out of the area to where medics were awaiting him. Inside Edition Digital’s Mara Montalbano has more.
Police K9 Finds Missing Woman With Dementia
Sheriff’s deputies, led by the nose of a dog named Toby, found a missing Florida woman with dementia. The Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office released bodycam footage of officers finding a woman who had gone missing in a wooded area. Authorities say the woman had fallen and was lying on the ground about 250 feet away from her home. She was severely dehydrated and was helicoptered out to get medical attention. The woman is reportedly still in the hospital but is expected to recover.
