It’s yet another terrifying drawbridge accident. This one happened at the Ocean Avenue Bridge in Lantana, Florida. A motorist sitting on the bridge realizes that it is lifting up, and flings open his door to try and signal the control tower to stop, but the bridge continues to rise. He’s in a tough spot; if he jumps out, he risks falling between the bridge’s cracks and into the intercoastal waterway 50 feet below. Suddenly, the car lurches forward and he’s out of danger. The bridgetender has since been fired.
