A man was hit by a car, then robbed while unconscious, according to the NYPD. Surveillance cameras caught a 39-year-old man walking to work in Bronx, New York. Just before reaching the sidewalk a sedan making a left turn hit the pedestrian, sending him flying into the air and skidding on the pavement. Police say either the driver or the passenger of that dark sedan ran over to the unconscious man and stole his belongings out of his hand.
It was a horrific accident. A mom and her baby were mowed down in an alley by a teen driver who fled the scene before getting caught. The sentence handed down to the young offender is tough for some to understand, especially the mom who was hit by the driver. As Jim Moret reports, he will do only a few months at a youth detention camp, which is fueling the charge that the local district attorney is soft on crime.
A 23-year old New Jersey woman is speaking out after surviving being mowed down in a horrific road rage attack. Two weeks ago, Morgan Scott was on the way to work at the city’s planning and zoning commission in Elizabeth, when she says the driver of a silver SUV hit her car during a minor fender bender. As she tried to take photos of the license plate, the SUV suddenly went into reverse and went right at her, and ended up driving over her three times.
It was a crime that shocked the nation: a man drove into a crowd at a Christmas parade in Waukesha, Wisconsin, killing six and injuring over 60 others. And while the Nov. 21 incident may have fallen from the headlines, the people who were injured, many of them children, continue to struggle to overcome their injuries. 8-year-old Olivia suffered traumatic brain injuries and a broken ankle. Tyler Pudleiner was with his marching band. His teeth were broken and he had massive injuries to his intestines.
A cyclist is hit by a car and falls off his bike. He rolls to the right and suffers minor injuries as the car keeps on driving, police say. The driver could have avoided charges if they stuck around, police say. “It only became a crime when the driver fled the scene without rendering aid and identifying themselves,” said LAPD Detective Juan Campos. A $5,000 reward is now offered for the arrest and conviction of the driver involved in the crash.
Leonardo Gil, an endoscopy technician, was killed in a hit-and-run crash, police say. It happened in Hialeah, Florida. Gil was beloved by the hospital where he worked and on TikTok. He often posted about his experiences working in a hospital, along with some humor for comic relief. Surveillance video has been released of the vehicle police say was involved in the deadly crash. They need the public’s help in identifying the SUV or van and its driver.
