Dashcam and bodycam video were released Thursday of a Mecklenburg County sheriff’s deputy who was shot five times before returning fire and hitting the suspect in northeast Charlotte on February 19. The deputy said he was flagged down by the man and stopped to help him. As he approached the driver’s side of the car, the man started shooting at the deputy who retreated to back of his car and started firing back.
