New research from Poverty Solutions at the University of Michigan shows that even during Covid’s moratorium on evictions, 25,000 eviction notices were still filed in Detroit, and thousands of families were uprooted and evicted despite the moratorium.
This Burger King restaurant is frozen in time. It’s filled with retro wall decor, wooden booths and old soda machines. The restaurant first opened in 1987 at the concord mall in Wilmington, Delaware. Unfortunately, the restaurant closed 13 years ago and was sealed off behind a wall. The rest of the mall was renovated around it until a curious contractor opened the locked door. Now the mall’s owners are hoping someone will step in and breathe new life into this vintage fast-food restaurant.
It was a terrifying scene at a gas station in the middle of the day. Two men are seen on camera in surveillance video armed with guns surrounding a white car, police say. The woman behind the wheel of the car hit the gas and sped off after they demanded she get out of the car, cops say.
