A Tennessee police officer took an 84-year-old woman to her hair appointment. While on a routine patrol, officer Lance Hoffmeister saw an elderly woman walking down the side of a busy highway. The woman, Elizabeth Hood, told the officer that just had to walk an extra mile to her hair appointment, because the bus only got her so far. Hoffmeister offered to drive her all the way to the salon, but his good deed didn’t end there. The officer says he’ll pick her up in the future, too.

Sergeant Charged With Battery After Putting Hands on Officer
A police sergeant faces felony charges after bodycam video shows him put his hand on a fellow officer’s neck. Sergeant Christopher Pullease of the Sunshine Police Department in Florida faces battery on a law enforcement officer and tampering with evidence, which are third-degree felonies, as well as misdemeanor charges of assault on a law enforcement officer and assault on a civilian male, according to the State Attorney of Broward County. Texas wind turbine fire: Lightning strike ignites flames in Crowell, Texas

It’s the latest in a national road rage epidemic. In 2021, 500 people were killed or wounded in road rage-related incidents. In Portland Oregon, police say a gunman killed a 45-year-old father over his windshield washer spray allegedly landing on the suspect’s car. An expert says the uptick in road rage is partly due to the pandemic.
