Escaped Alabama inmate Casey White and corrections officer Vicky White were captured in Indiana after an 11-day nationwide manhunt Monday, Lauderdale County Sheriff Rick Singleton announced in a press conference.
Security cameras in a car wash in Evansville, Indiana, captured the image of a man believed to be Casey White. White is on the run after escaping jail in Alabama. The photos, released by U.S. Marshalls, show a man who resembles the hulking murder suspect, who stands 6 feet, 9 inches tall. The tattoos on his right arm also seem to be a match. The figure in the video was clean-shaven and wore a hat and sunglasses. Prison guard Vicki White, who authorities say helped Casey White escape, was not seen in the footage.
Police say they’ve apprehended a man who was sought after in a string of robberies, including this smash-and-grab incident in the Bronx. The NYPD says in this incident, he smashed the front window of a jewelry store, then reached in and started grabbing the merchandise on display. Meanwhile another man held a bag that the first man kept stuffing with his loot. The store was open at the time and someone inside tried to lower the mechanical gate.
